Hi, I’m Nick J Harvey a guitarist, songwriter and teacher with over 25 years of experience performing, recording and working in the studio.

I offer guitar and bass lessons in Werribee and online, working mainly with adult beginners and returning players who want a clear and structured way to improve.

My lessons are built around what I call the triangle of musicianship: rhythm, melody and harmony. By developing these three areas together, you build not just technique, but the confidence and understanding to actually play music, not just copy it.

Over the years, I’ve refined a teaching approach that blends traditional foundations with modern, practical methods. The focus is on making lessons engaging, easy to follow, and relevant to what you want to play.

Alongside teaching, I work as a recording artist and producer in my own studio. This means I bring real-world insight into tone, arrangement and recording into each lesson, helping you develop a more complete and musical approach to playing.

Whether you’re starting from scratch, getting back into guitar after a break, or looking to improve your feel and confidence, I can help you move forward with a clear plan and real progress.

Teaching Info

My lessons are specially designed for adult beginners and adult restarting music. The core of my teaching is built upon Triangle of Musicianship: rhythm, melody, and harmony.

When you strengthen these three pillars, everything gets easier: timing locks in, the fretboard makes sense, chords feel more natural, and your playing starts to sound musical, not mechanical.

That’s when songs, improvisation, and writing your own parts stop feeling confusing and start feeling fun , because you finally understand how the pieces fit together, step by step.
