Bio
I began my musical journey in India while studying at Swaminarayan Gurukul, where I developed my tabla skills by observing experienced players and building my own sense of rhythm. Over the years, I have learned and performed with several percussion instruments including Tabla, Dholak, Dhol, HandSonic Electric Octapad, Clapbox, Cajon, and Small Drum.
I have performed at many cultural events such as Garba nights, weddings, fusion shows, and jam sessions. Now based in Melbourne, I enjoy sharing my passion for rhythm and percussion by teaching students of all levels in a supportive and engaging learning environment. My lessons focus on strong rhythm foundations, proper techniques, and making music enjoyable for every student.
Teaching Info
In my lessons, students will learn the fundamentals of rhythm, proper hand techniques, and the basic structure of tabla playing such as bols (tabla syllables), taal (rhythm cycles), and simple compositions. As students progress, I also introduce variations, accompaniment skills, and rhythm practice used in different musical settings.
My main focus is teaching Tabla, but students may also get exposure to other percussion instruments such as Dholak, Dhol, HandSonic Electric Octapad, Clapbox, Cajon, and Small Drum depending on their interest.
My teaching approach is patient and structured, focusing on step-by-step learning so students can build strong rhythm foundations, confidence, and musical understanding. Lessons are adapted to each student’s level, making them suitable for both beginners and those who want to further develop their percussion skills.
