Bio

Ricardo Roche Idini is a Melbourne-based pianist, teacher, and accompanist, originally from Chile. A graduate of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne, he completed his studies under the guidance of renowned pianist Coady Green, specialising in both solo and collaborative performance.

Ricardo has performed extensively across Melbourne in a wide range of settings, including solo recitals, chamber music, and vocal accompaniment. His work as an accompanist has seen him collaborate with singers and instrumentalists in concerts, examinations, and professional performances, developing a reputation for sensitivity, versatility, and musical insight.

Alongside his performing career, Ricardo is a dedicated and passionate teacher. He works with students of all ages and levels, focusing on building strong technical foundations while fostering musical expression, creativity, and confidence at the piano. His teaching approach is tailored to each individual, whether students are preparing for exams, performances, or simply learning for enjoyment.

Ricardo is currently a piano teacher and accompanist at St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar, where he continues to inspire young musicians while maintaining an active performance career.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s individual goals, level, and musical interests, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment from the very beginning.

Students can expect a structured approach that balances strong technical development with musical expression. Lessons typically include work on posture and technique, repertoire, sight-reading, aural skills, and general musicianship. For beginners, the focus is on building solid foundations, good habits, and a genuine enjoyment of music.

For more advanced students, lessons are designed to refine technique, deepen musical understanding, and develop performance confidence. Guidance is provided for a wide range of repertoire, from classical piano works to collaborative playing.

Preparation for AMEB exams is available at all levels, including certificates and diploma pathways. Students receive structured guidance to meet examination requirements while maintaining a high artistic standard.

Performance is an important part of musical growth. Students are encouraged to participate in recitals, gaining confidence and experience in a supportive setting.
