Bio
Every student is unique, and I believe music lessons should reflect that. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, I offer a flexible, elective-based program that allows students to focus on what excites them most — whether it’s:
- Guitar or Bass
- Songwriting
- Sound Production (Logic Pro X)
- Live Performance
- Music Business & Music Law
- VCE Music Preparation
I work with students of all ages and experience levels, and specialise in helping teenagers build confidence, creativity, a sense of self, and real-world music skills, all while supporting them with clear goal-setting and career guidance.
With over 10 years of industry experience, a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, and a background in songwriting, performance, and sound engineering, I bring practical knowledge and encouragement to every session. My career includes performances at major festivals such as Byron Bay Bluesfest and Splendour in the Grass, and my music has been recognised as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition. I’m also proud to have received the Alex Legg Memorial Scholarship, awarded to emerging Australian songwriters.
Whether you, or your child, is a complete beginner, preparing for VCE, or dreaming of a music career — I’ll provide the guidance, structure and inspiration to help you get there.
Teaching Info
Lessons are goal-based, personalised, and empowering. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or refining your craft, I will help you set clear, meaningful goals like performing live, writing your first song, or releasing original music. We then break these into weekly, achievable steps to keep momentum going.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all program, students choose the topics they’re most excited about. This might include learning guitar chords, writing songs, producing in Logic Pro X, or understanding the music industry. Together, we create a customised plan and regularly check in to track progress and celebrate growth.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is down-to-earth, caring, and supportive. I aim to meet each student where they’re at, helping them build confidence, explore creativity, and develop the foundational skills they need to reach their goals. Whether we’re focusing on technical ability, songwriting, production, or career planning, I provide structured, clear guidance backed by real industry experience.
Lesson Format
Lessons are available either face-to-face at my home studio in Pascoe Vale South or online. Both formats are fully interactive and tailored to each student’s needs.
After Each Lesson
After every session, students receive a follow-up email containing all the materials we covered. These include custom-made diagrams, worksheets, exercises, and occasionally video content or practice tips. This ensures that learning continues between lessons and that progress stays on track.
