Bio

Hi, I’m Akash and I have over 20 years experience as a pianist, keyboardist, session musician and teacher, covering a range of genres. I trained at the New Zealand School of Music (Victoria University of Wellington) and hold a Bachelor of Music (BMusHons) in Jazz Performance (specialization in Piano), graduating with First Class Honours in 2022. I am presently awaiting commencing my Masters studies at the University of Melbourne/VCA.

I have taught students of all ages, including itinerant music teaching at New Zealand secondary schools, and have experience teaching various syllabuses including Trinity, NZMEB, ABRSM, and Alfreds.

Besides that, I am an established composer with original works spanning a wide range of genres, from works for solo piano, compositions for radio dramas, and film soundtracks. I have composed music for Radio NZ, played at and composed music for TEDx events, and headlined various jazz festivals around New Zealand. I also regularly perform in venues around Melbourne.
