Bio
Brad Slater (A.Mus.A., B.A./B.Teach., M.Mus.Tech.) is a full-time, qualified music teacher who specialises in woodwind instruments (flute, clarinet, sax & recorder) and classroom teaching. His teaching philosophy is that music should be enjoyable and that a good teacher will bring out each student’s potential to achieve.

As well as being the head of the Music faculty he enjoys teaching VCE Music, conducting bands and teaching classroom music. His experience includes preparing woodwind students for AMEB exams, VCE and simply personal enjoyment. He has VIT registration and first aid.
Brad teaches from a home studio in Pascoe Vale but limited lessons are also available at student’s homes in the south eastern suburbs.
Teaching Info
One of the joys of teaching instrumental lessons is being able to personalise the material to suit the student. Ensuring that the lessons are enjoyable comes from the selection of music that will grab the attention of the student and motivate them.
I am happy to prepare students for AMEB exams, to supplement involvement in school music programs, to prepare VCE students or prepare for scholarship auditions.
I also love teaching adult students. If you are a complete beginner or have experience on an instrument I’m happy to listen to your goals and help you enjoy playing an instrument.
