Bio

Brendan has been playing saxophone for 20 years, and is currently undertaking a bachelor of music in third year.

He has been teaching saxophone since 2010 and has a passion for finding the best methods of learning for each individual student, focusing on what they want to get out of music and their instrument in particular.

Brendan has extensive experience with beginners saxophone and music theory, ensemble cohesion, and extensive techniques.

There are no age or ability limits for learning the saxophone, short of the minimum physicality required to hold the instrument.

Brendan is more than comfortable working with a student to either meet a specific goal or time frame, or to take time exploring the instrument and music in general at a pace best suited to the student.

Brendan has a focus on making sure the student feels they have left a lesson with either a better understanding of what they wanted to learn, or having discovered something new. Lesson structure is developed over time to best suit each student, and is always focused to prioritise any particular interest or queries that they have.
