Bio

I am a Melbourne-based freelance flutist originally from Christchurch, currently in my second year at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), where I study under Alison Mitchell. In 2023, I completed my Bachelor of Music at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music (NZSM).

With over four years of teaching experience, I offer flute lessons both privately and in schools, tailored to students of all levels. Beyond solo flute repertoire, I provide valuable guidance in orchestral and ensemble performance, drawing from extensive professional experience.

I have performed as principal flute with the NZ National Youth Orchestra and the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band, and I have worked casually with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Through ANAM, I have performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Western Australian Symphony Orchestra, and, as a 2024 concerto competition finalist, with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

I am passionate about tailoring my teaching to help you achieve your unique musical goals. Whether we’re jamming to your favorite pop songs, performing solos, or playing duets, lessons are always personalised to suit your interests and needs.

I place a strong emphasis on foundational skills, improving tone, technique, musicality, and theory to ensure well-rounded development. With over eight years of experience as a kids and youth leader, alongside teaching in schools, I am very comfortable working with children. My goal is to make lessons engaging, fun, and inspiring for students of all ages.
