Bio

Jackson is a passionate piano teacher and teaching artist with over 8 years of experience working with young performers. He has taught with leading arts organisations including Stage School Australia and NIDA Open.

A NIDA graduate and award-winning songwriter, Jackson’s lessons are engaging, supportive, and creativity-focused — empowering children to build strong musical foundations while developing confidence, imagination, and a genuine love of music.

Teaching Info

I teach from my music room at home, usually using my upright piano, as well as my acoustic, electric or bass guitars. I am also able to travel to surrounding suburbs if you have a piano/keyboard to learn on.

I’m excited to introduce new-comers to piano, guitar and singing. Teaching and talking about music makes me happy and my main interest is encouraging and facilitating others interest in music.

In our lessons we may cover any of the following:

• basic theory/technique
• aural training
• songwriting lessons
• discovering new references and genres
• learning to accompany ourselves (playing and singing at the same time)
• music notation / sheet music reading

The main goal is to make playing and practicing a FUN thing to do and to get excited and curious about music.
