Bio

Hi there, I am a professional violinist and experienced violin teacher based in Melbourne, currently performing regularly with leading orchestras including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria.

Prior to relocating to Australia, I performed extensively in New Zealand with all the major orchestras, including the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia, and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

Alongside my performance career, I have many years of teaching experience. I have previously taught at Epsom Music School in Auckland and Providence Christian Academy (an international school in Seoul, South Korea), in addition to maintaining a long-standing private studio. I have successfully prepared numerous students for ABRSM and Trinity violin exams, with most students achieving Merit or Distinction.

I hold a Master of Music from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours) from the New Zealand School of Music in Wellington.

Teaching Info

I structure my lessons to build both strong technique and musical enjoyment. Each lesson typically begins with scales and technical work to develop a solid foundation, followed by focused work on repertoire.

I draw on a range of materials depending on the student’s goals, including the Suzuki method, graded exam syllabi (ABRSM, Trinity, AMEB), and any pieces the student is currently learning. I’m happy to tailor repertoire to suit individual interests and levels.

Where time allows, I like to finish lessons by playing duets with my students. This is a fun and engaging way to develop sight-reading skills, ensemble awareness, and overall musicianship.
