Bio

I’m Joshua Fiji, a lifelong musician, multi-instrumentalist and music teacher currently teaching violin, guitar and piano. Having been taught violin for over a decade, and using my classical skills to teach myself electric and acoustic guitar, piano, cello, drums and other instruments, I have learnt to refine my abilities in teaching beginners to violin, guitar and piano with highly effective results (over 150 students thus far!).

Having played violin in orchestras throughout my time living in Dubai, as well as performing the guitar in various gigs and events, my influences and inspirations are extensive – Blues, Metal, Rock, Classical, Electronic, Jazz, Hip Hop etc. – As well as my teaching, I enjoy collaborations and content creation over social media, having gained recognition from the likes of Charlie Hunter, Bôa and Lil B.

I am passionate not only about teaching instruments, but providing a safe space for people of all ages and walks of life to approach learning an instrument as a fun and engaging task, rather than daunting or boring.

Teaching Info

Being a self-taught musician means delivering violin, guitar and piano lessons with guaranteed results to beginner students, whether you wish to understand the basics, or refine your current musical skills – even if you feel like you’ve had no luck learning instruments either by yourself or with previous teachers.

My lessons are fun, flexible and oriented around the songs and desires of the student, rather than focusing on exam preparation such as AMEB – this fosters a healthy, lifelong relationship with music in my experience, and makes learning musical instruments approachable.

I offer lessons either at your home (with a 5km radius to Waterways, and an additional fee for further students), or at my home in Waterways 3195.

I am available on weekdays between 4:00pm – 8:30pm as well as on weekends between 1:00pm – 5:00pm, with either 30 minutes or 1 hour lessons as per your choosing.
