Bio

Welcome!

My name is Julian Addati, and I am an experienced guitar and music teacher with a passion for helping students grow both as musicians and as creative individuals.

I have over three years’ experience as a classroom music teacher, specialising in VCE and VET Music, and have developed engaging Year 7–12 music curriculum as a Performing Arts Leader. This experience has given me a strong understanding of music theory, composition, improvisation, and aural skills, which I now draw upon to support and extend my guitar students. By combining curriculum knowledge with practical teaching, I help students build solid foundations, strengthen their musicianship, and grow in confidence and creativity.

Before stepping into classroom teaching, I spent three years teaching guitar and ukulele, working with students from primary school through to high school. My broad teaching experience has allowed me to develop a clear and flexible curriculum that focuses on good habits, strong technique, and most importantly…making music enjoyable!

I work with students of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced players preparing for exams or performances. Whether it’s learning your first chords, exploring improvisation, or refining advanced skills, my goal is to help every student build a strong foundation, unlock their creativity, and develop a genuine love for music.

Teaching Info

In my lessons, students can expect a supportive and engaging environment that balances structure with creativity. I tailor each lesson to the student’s age, goals, and experience level, whether that’s learning chords and strumming, exploring improvisation, preparing for exams, or developing song writing skills.

Lessons focus on building good technique, strong musical foundations, and confidence through a mix of practical playing, theory, and aural training. My teaching style is encouraging and flexible, aiming to make music enjoyable while helping students progress steadily and develop a lifelong love for playing guitar.
