Kyle is a composer and Trombonist currently in his final year of study at Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music (Monash University) studying Jazz Trombone. His versatility and emphasis on becoming an all-rounded musician has allowed him to play in a variety of settings such as for touring pop artists, pit orchestras for musicals, pop bands at corporate functions, at jazz clubs, and in 2021 played in the Melbourne Jazz Festival with Monash Jazz Futures.
Kyle not only has experience in performance but has also been able to gain experience by teaching students of varying age and ability.
My approach to music teaching is friendly and relaxed yet enthusiastic in order to keep students engaged. When structuring a lesson, I always take the student’s musical aspirations/interests into consideration however I do have a firm belief in the importance of technical and aural proficiency. I ensure lessons are fun and inspiring but also informative and work towards becoming the most versatile and proficient musician they can be.
As I have been fortunate enough to teach students of a variety of ages, I have been able to gain experience in preparing students undertaking a range of AMEB examinations. As I have also taught secondary-aged students, I have gained experience in preparing them for their performance exams whilst also ensuring that they learn a broad range of repertoire.
