Bio
I teach violin at the University of Melbourne / Conservatorium of Music. I also give international masterclasses and teach at my private violin studio in Melbourne.
My lessons are designed for each student’s aims, balanced between technical and musical development, and include preparation for solo performances, orchestral auditions, AMEB exams and general professional consultation.
I perform internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. I have performed solo recitals at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Melba Hall, Hanson Dyer Hall, the Royal Academy of Music in London and Europe.
I am a laureate of several competitions and have performed as a soloist with orchestras: Israel Camerata, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and Melbourne Strings.
I have worked professionally in the chamber orchestra Israel Camerata (2009 – 2018) and have been a guest player with the Israel Philharmonic, Nordic Symphony Orchestra, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonietta Riga. I am also the founder and concertmaster of Melbourne Strings. www.sophiakirsanova.com/melbourne-strings
