We have all been trying and experimenting with video conferencing apps for our online lessons during COVID-19 and I wanted to share an alternative we discovered called Rock Out Loud LIVE.
When we launched New Jersey Music Teachers Online we got a sneak peak at the app that is now a wonderful feature rich music focussed video conferencing app for online lessons.

RockOutLoud.live is the first Virtual Music Lesson Platform to offer an interactive Virtual Experience. With a secure P2P layer of encryption you’ll enjoy a safe Video Music Lesson while being able to access the tools you need to teach your lesson like you were right there in person.
As a Music Instructor, you’ll have access to search a library of sheet music and tablature as well as upload your own music lessons (via PDF uploads) directly into the Virtual Session. Unlike screen sharing, your sheet music appears inside the Virtual Music Room and is shared in Real Time with your student. Your student will also have the ability to download the music too! Just like a lesson that was taught in your music school, your student gets to leave the Virtual Music Lesson with the music you taught them!
For instruments that require chords, RockOutLoud.live provides a library of the most common chords for Guitar, Piano and Ukulele. These chords, once selected by the teacher, appear in real-time on the students screen. For drum lessons, drum instructors will have a list of 40 of the most common rudiments played on the drums to share with their students. All of this interaction happens in real time!
